
Gloria Macias Harrison
Gloria Macías Harrison is a long-time educator, media pioneer, and community advocate in the Inland Empire. As co-founder of El Chicano newspaper and co-owner of Inland Empire Community News, she helped establish one of the nation’s longest-running minority-owned publications. After decades of teaching and serving in administration within the San Bernardino Community College District, she was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2012. She has also held leadership roles with the Inland Empire Community Foundation—serving as board president, youth grantmaking advisor, and philanthropist through donor-advised funds established with her late husband. Their contributions span arts, education, health, and human services, including a scholarship fund established in memory of their daughter
